SPICE IT UP AT BUFFALO CHIP

Enjoy a “Mix It Up” Chili Challenge

​

This event is designed to see who can mix up and make the best chili in a 75 minute challenge.  Each team will plan their menu, mix the ingredients, cook it up and produce a Chili to be judged by your VIP’s our officials.   We provide all the spices, supplies and sound & music plus fun staff who will guide the experience. Our head official will say “let the mixing” begin part of the team then chooses from the fresh vegetables, beans of choice, spices, peppers and other ingredients to mix it up while part of the team brands the chili and creates a 30-second commercial.  Teams receive a Chili Pot and walk through the ingredient line as they “add” directly to their pot.  They also have a spice bowl that they can choose from spices and add directly to their bowl. The Challenge is to “choose” before you add, or you could ruin the mix!  Teams simmer and taste then get a return trip for ‘add ins” right to the Chili Pot!

When done you can tour the Cave Creek Pubs or on Wednesday & Friday night enjoy the Bull Riding.  Private Bull Riding events can be arranged for large groups.

PROGRAM DETAILS:  Approximately 90 Minutes

​

  • Menu Planning: Participants review beans, veggies, peppers, beef, bison, chicken and spices to fill their pot for the chili
    challenge.  Teams return one more time for added ingredients with a smaller bowl that they can fill to complete their entry.

  • Chili Branding: Team Members work to create the official Chip Chili poster, commercial and overall brand to present to the judges as they review their entry.

  • Shandy Mix: Teams start with a PBR, not professional Bull Riders, but Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, then using ingredients create a pitcher of a beer shandy.  Again, part of the judging as they will provide small samples to judges as part of the competition.

IT’S GRUB TIME:  Teams enjoy their Chili as a plated addition to the chicken or burger meal as chosen.

  • Team Chili

  • Salad

  • Dessert

  • Tea & Soda

  • Non-hosted Bar or Hosted (your call)

Program Fee:  $500 setup plus $75 per person

The Salsa Fresca Challenge
In Mexican cuisine, Pico de Gallo (literally rooster's beak) also called salsa fresca, is a fresh, uncooked salad made from chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, fresh hot peppers, salt, pepper and lime juice. Other ingredients may also be added such as bell peppers or firm fruit such as mango or pineapple.


The Salsa Fresca Challenge can be held as a team competition or just an individual activity experience. We have created the experience to involve review of ingredients, menu planning and writing, mixing and mashing then submitting for the judging!


Groups can also mix and take some with them if requested. $1.00 per person for container
